After 14 releases of deep electronic music its time for Stoke Audio to bring you a brand new release from Leipzig’s MZE with roaring reeces, stunning basslines and hard kicking drum and bass beats.
MZE is an addicted home producer forgetting everything around when doing his beats and basses.
This up&coming artist took his first steps in producing electronic music back in 1998 after leaving a noise- industrial- crossover-band where he played bass. Influenced by drum&bass-parties in Erfurt he focused more and more on producing this kind of sound.
Since 2001 when MZE moved from Ilmenau, Thuringia to Leipzig, Saxony his sound has changed and improved a lot as a result of new opportunities and influences caused by people/acquaintances like LXC (lxc.info /alphacut) and Con.struct (constructmusic.de / Outsider Rec. UK). Even a while later LXC who had already started running alphacut records had the spontanious idea of collaborating with MZE. The result "Stick em up" - a loaded rave-jungle-anthem - became the a-side of the second alphacut release and was MZE's first track on vinyl. In the following years serval other MZE tunes have also been released by alphacut records.
In spring 2005 MZE finally started performing live at gigs in Bastard (Berlin), Distillery (Leipzig), Triebwerk (Erfurt)... His sets move from straight drum and bass, rave, choppage, mashup up to breakcore. MZE plays harsh and tight sounds that are still catchy and just made for the floor!
Under the pseudonym "IIx" (unpronounceable but sometimes called "times two") MZE focuses more on halfstep beats or even lower tempos. IIx seemed to be the mainproject for him in the last year. His debut was released on drumpanic recordings (DPR 006) in 2010.
